Our manifesto

We are a family-friendly, youth-focused, sober event.

We are inclusive and diverse, hoping to represent a

variety of communities based in the Middlesex area.

We bring an environment that encompasses

compassion, understanding and safety.

We are a celebration based in nature, growth

and community.

We will listen to the community's needs.

We will support your mental health.

We will not judge.

We are united in our joy.

We are united in our grief.

We are accepting of differences.

This is Middlesex Pride.

We are LGBTQIA+ people living in and connected to Middlesex. We are grassroots, volunteer-run and community-led. Middlesex is historically diverse, made up of different faith groups, including Muslim, Sikh and Hindu communities; and ethnically diverse, with Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Afghani, Somali, African-Caribbean, Eastern European, and other communities that are typically underrepresented in the UK and in LGBTQIA+ spaces. These are the people we represent and the voices we platform.

Middlesex Pride is the first pride event held across the boroughs that make up Middlesex, and it is  one-of-a-kind, highlighting the importance of visibility and creating safe spaces in the Middlesex community. We will build compassion and solidarity across communities and show that Middlesex is a place to be proud of.

We hold a free, annual pride event in Middlesex, that is family-friendly and youth-centred, and for all LGBTQIA+ people living in the area. We work with organisations who share our vision of building an LGBTQIA+ presence in Middlesex and align with our values. We aim to increase understanding, exploration and celebration of ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and cultural and spiritual identities, through local pride events and opportunities, both digitally and in person. We encourage allyship and learning. We encourage solidarity, joy and growth.

Middlesex Pride recognises that Pride started as a protest and that Pride is political. This is why our theme this year is ‘solidarity’. Middlesex Pride is a trans and non-binary majority team. Trans and non-binary communities are experiencing vilification in the media, rising hate crime numbers, attacks upon gender-affirming care, and increased hostility from people with power, including politicians. Trans youth are having their healthcare restricted, as prescribing puberty blockers to under-18s has been banned. Middlesex pride therefore stands in solidarity with trans and non-binary communities. Trans and non-binary people deserve safety, healthcare and the freedom to live authentically.

We also recognise the importance of solidarity with all fights for justice. This is why Middlesex Pride stands in solidarity with Palestine. Israel has enforced 75 years of apartheid upon Palestine, and are currently committing genocide in Gaza. We offer our solidarity and voice to the people of Palestine. We particularly condemn the pinkwashing of Israel as it attempts to justify their occupation of Palestine. As LGBTQIA+ people, we resist being used to justify genocide. Free Palestine.

Middlesex Pride is proud to be in solitary with trans and non-binary communities, and with Palestine. Trans liberation now. Palestinian liberation now.

Middlesex Pride is here to let the LGBTQIA+ people of Middlesex know that they are important, supported and deserve celebration. Middlesex Pride promotes solidarity, unity and justice. Middlesex Pride is community.

Our commitment to eco-sustainability

Middlesex Pride is proud to say that we care about the environment, how we have an impact on it as an organisation and how we can take care of it as a community.

We have pledged to a Fossil Free Pride which means we are adopting a publicly available ethical sponsorship policy. We won't accept sponsorship from fossil fuel companies or financial institutions funding fossil fuel companies.

We continue our commitment, in line with The National Trust, and we invite you to reduce your carbon footprint and care for the environment by:

  • taking public transport where possible

  • bring your own cups/water bottles to the park (drinking water available for free)

  • volunteer to help with the clean up - register your interest here!

  • make use of the extra bins we have on site! Separate your food waste, recyclables and rubbish and put them in the correct bins.
